Samaúma Rapè
Known as the “Queen of the Forest” in the Amazon, the Samaúma tree (Ceiba pentandra) towers above the canopy, often regarded as a sacred mother tree. In Indigenous tradition, she is a great connector — bridging the Earth and sky, the seen and unseen realms. Samaúma is revered for her protective and expansive energy, often called upon for strength, grounding, and spiritual communication.

In rapè form, Samaúma carries this medicine through the breath and into the subtle channels of the body. It is said to help open perception, clear stagnant energy, and strengthen the auric field. Many use Samaúma Rapè for deep grounding before ceremony, or when seeking clarity and connection to higher guidance.

This blend can feel both powerful and nurturing — rooting you firmly while expanding your awareness, like the tree herself whose roots reach deep into the Earth and whose crown brushes the heavens.

Made by the Huni Kuin

Traditional uses include:

  • Grounding and centering before prayer or ceremony

  • Clearing energetic blockages

  • Enhancing spiritual connection and intuition

  • Inviting protection and strength

As with all rapè, it is offered with respect, intention, and gratitude to the plant spirits and wisdom keepers of the Amazon who carry this lineage.

Rapé (pronounced ha-PAY) is a powerful shamanic snuff used by indigenous tribes of the Amazon for centuries. This sacred tobacco blend, traditionally made from finely ground wild tobacco (Nicotiana rustica), herbs, seeds, and ashes, is more than just a tool for physical and spiritual healing. Rapé is administered through the nose using a pipe, called a tepi(administered by another person) or kuripe (self-administered), delivering a potent blend directly into the sinuses and deep into the energetic field.

The effects of rapé are profound and multifaceted. It can clear mental fog, realign energy centers, and facilitate deep states of meditation and connection with nature. Many users report heightened clarity, increased focus, and a sense of groundedness. The purging effects can release emotional, physical, and spiritual blockages, offering a pathway to greater self-awareness and healing.

Rapé is often used in ceremonial settings, where its administration is accompanied by prayers and intentions. This sacred ritual honors the plant spirits and connects the user to the wisdom of the Amazonian tribes who have perfected this practice. Whether used for grounding, meditation, or healing, rapé is a powerful ally on the journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth.
