Gesileu Rapè

Handcrafted in the Brazilian Amazon by Gesileu Phaspy Ninawa, a respected Caboclo healer and master of rapè, this blend carries the deep roots of forest tradition. Gesileu’s craft is shaped by years of study with the Huni Kuin and Yawanawá peoples, and guided by his own lineage in the Caboclo tradition — a unique weaving of Indigenous, African, and European spiritual influences.

This rapè is made with sacred Nicotiana rustica (mapacho tobacco) and the aromatic seeds of cumaru (tonka bean), along with other carefully selected plants. Cumaru lends a subtle sweetness and grounding presence, while the tobacco anchors the blend in the body. Every batch is prepared in small quantities, with prayer and intention, honoring the plants and the spirits that guide the work.

Energetically, Gesileu Rapè is known for its calm yet potent clarity. It clears mental fog, releases stagnant energies, and gently opens the heart and energetic channels. Many find it deeply grounding while also expansive — centering you in the present moment and heightening spiritual connection without overwhelming the system.

Traditionally used for:

  • Grounding and energetic alignment

  • Clearing heavy thoughts or emotions

  • Supporting meditation and prayer

  • Relaxation before rest

  • Inviting clarity and connection to guidance

When you work with this rapè, you’re connecting not only with the plants themselves but with a living lineage of forest medicine. It is offered with deep respect for the culture and land from which it comes, and for the hands that carry it forward.

Rapé (pronounced ha-PAY) is a powerful shamanic snuff used by indigenous tribes of the Amazon for centuries. This sacred tobacco blend, traditionally made from finely ground wild tobacco (Nicotiana rustica), herbs, seeds, and ashes, is more than just a tool for physical and spiritual healing. Rapé is administered through the nose using a pipe, called a tepi(administered by another person) or kuripe (self-administered), delivering a potent blend directly into the sinuses and deep into the energetic field.

The effects of rapé are profound and multifaceted. It can clear mental fog, realign energy centers, and facilitate deep states of meditation and connection with nature. Many users report heightened clarity, increased focus, and a sense of groundedness. The purging effects can release emotional, physical, and spiritual blockages, offering a pathway to greater self-awareness and healing.

Rapé is often used in ceremonial settings, where its administration is accompanied by prayers and intentions. This sacred ritual honors the plant spirits and connects the user to the wisdom of the Amazonian tribes who have perfected this practice. Whether used for grounding, meditation, or healing, rapé is a powerful ally on the journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth.
